Counselling
I offer confidential counselling sessions to individuals. My style of counselling I is integrative and humanistic. This means that I will draw on a range of approaches to and theories of counselling in our work together, and be guided by what suits you best. I am trained in using creative methods (making art, telling stories, writing creatively) but it is up to you whether or not you want to work in this way. I will not offer you advice or push you in any particular direction. You will not be judged. My aim in counselling is to help you understand yourself better and to support you to draw on your own strengths to make positive life-choices and decisions. I have particular experience of working with issues related to anxiety and low self-esteem, and working with neurodivergence. I can also support you in navigating challenging life events, and in developing better relationships.
My practice is gender-affirming and LGBTQi-welcoming, and I am committed to working anti-oppressively.
My fee is £45 for a one-hour session. I offer a free 30-minute exploratory call prior to working together⏤with no obligation to book a paid session afterwards. Payment is via bank transfer or PayPal, invoiced after the session has taken place. If you cannot make a counselling or coaching session you have booked with me, you must cancel with at least 24 hours notice – otherwise you will be charged for this session at the full hourly rate.
I hold a BSc in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Middlesex, 2010) and a PhD in Counselling Studies (UEA, 2020). I am fully insured and bound by the professional ethical code of the National Counselling Society (MNCS membership #NCS 521-01613)
Stephanie has been so supportive and has helped me to get a handle on my anxiety by developing ways of managing my over-thinking. I am also a more confident person overall as a result of the work I did in counselling with Steph.

Coaching
Coaching is all about identifying your personal and professional goals and setting out a structured course for working towards them. I offer both life-coaching and coaching for work and business. A life-coaching session can help you find ways of being more effective in your current situation, or finding a way to make the changes necessary to live the life of your dreams⏤or at least achieving a version of it. Coaching for work and business can support you to be more effective in your professional role and to aspire and work towards greater responsibility. One thing all types of coaching have in common is that they offer you a time and a space to think about what you want and support in getting it. Coaching sessions typically happen less frequently than counselling; I usually see clients every two or four weeks, depending on preference. In common with my approach to counselling, my style of coaching is largely non-directive: this means that we will spend time exploring what you want to achieve and working on an agenda and set of actions that fit with your life and your desires. If I think it will be helpful, I may give you exercises to do: mapping things out with pen and paper is a powerful way to plan and execute positive change. I will also hold you accountable in our sessions for taking the actions you have set for yourself⏤if you haven’t done something, we will explore the reasons why and then reframe the problem in a more achievable way. I have worked with coaching clients for over 10 years and have an excellent track record in helping people develop themselves in a range of ways: from completing a PhD, developing self-agency, starting on a new career path, to growing their business. If you want to make effective changes in your life then coaching may be for you.
My fee is £50 for a one-hour session. I offer a free 30-minute exploratory call prior to working together⏤with no obligation to book a paid session afterwards. Payment is via bank transfer or PayPal, invoiced after the session has taken place.

Coaching helped me to explore where I was going and what was important to me. It helped me focus my time and activities on what was important and find a way to move towards my goals and aspirations.
